Ronan McManamy

Ronan has over 30 years’ experience in the Irish Media sector and is currently Chief Executive of the Clare FM /Tipp FM Radio Group. While the majority of his career has been in Local Radio, he has also held senior position in both Press and TV.

Ronan commenced his career with Corks 96FM/C103 in 1994,holding the positions Commercial Director and CEO. When the Company was acquired by UTV plc in 2001, he was promoted to the role of CEO of Wireless Radio Ireland, overseeing the development of a Group to 7 stations in Ireland’s key urban markets, reaching over 1 million listeners on a weekly basis. During this period, he was a member of Executive Management Team of overall UTV Media plc Group and also oversaw the establishment and development of the Urban Media sales house. In addition to his ongoing radio role, he also assumed operational responsibility for fledgling tv station, UTV Ireland, in 2016 until its sale to ITV in early 2017.

He subsequently spent time as Managing Director of the Irish Examiner, prior to returning to radio in his current role with Clare FM/Tipp FM. Over the years, Ronan has served as a Director on Industry bodies such as IBI and INN and he is currently serving on the Executive Board of IRS. Ronan is a passionate advocate for the power of radio, particularly at a local level.
