Keith Wood
Keith Wood is a former Irish international rugby player. He holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Limerick for services to Sport and was the inaugural winner of the ‘World Rugby’ Player of the Year award in 2001.
He is a Patron of Special Olympics, Chair of the Healthy Ireland Council and Patron of the UNESCO Chair for Inclusive Physical Education, Sport, Recreation and Fitness in Tralee IT. His charitable fund, W2 Foundation has raised funds for worthy causes over the last 15 years.
His business interests include W2 Consulting, a strategic planning and marketing agency, Mallinson, an Investment Company, ORRECO, a Bio-marker Data analysis company for elite athletes and Spin South West, a regional radio station and several business in his home town of Killaloe. He has just retired from the BBC after twenty one years as a broadcaster and is the voice of rugby on Newstalk lor the last ten years. He is a member the Commercial Board of Munster Rugby.
Keith has over twenty years experience in sports marketing, brand engagement, strategic planning and sponsorship management. He has been instrumental in the successful delivery of a range of sports and community facility projects and has a keen interest in rural renewal.
